Fabulous vintage 1920's/30's striped Basque table linen set, made in the traditional diamond weave of these regional textiles
This is a particularly heavy and excellent quality set, the red and green decoration is woven into the fabric not printed and has the feel of embroidery,

It was very yellowed when found, it has had a good long soak and is now white again however when wet faint shadows of the marks are visible but they will fade with washing

Classic antique French fabric weave of a style I see many variations of, with the alternating pattern stripes with woven flowers in between, this one is particularly beautiful as the weave is multicoloured and the pink flowers are so subtle

The second of this style, no lace trim on the sleeve edges is the only difference, I have put blend for this one as it has a more cotton like feel, I believe it may be a blend of both, it is medium weight with a slightly more rustic texture, A line shape with drawstring neckline,

This bolt of cotton print came from a tapisserie atelier, it is unused but has aged in storage and will need a short soak and wash before use after which I imagine the colours will brighten and you will see the pretty pink bows and blue flowers more clearly
