We are lucky to live very close to the Basque country and the famous textiles they produce sometimes appear at Brocantes with their traditional pattern weave and bright colour combinations

This one dates from the 1920s/30's, has a green and red colour woven border, classic Basque colours and a traditional patterned weave

Difficult to assess the exact fibre, cotton blend, perhaps with hemp running through the weave as there's a slight contrast in the pattern

 It has been laundered, there is a slight fold storage mark remaining which will disappear with additional washing
