These superb dress embellishments are huge, I had some difficulty working out how they were arranged so I hope the photos do them justice as they are magnificent
The main sections are made from a tulle decorated with glass seed and barrel beads, which have a grey hue, to create the pattern, there's a beaded loop edging running both side of each appliqué, both are finished with long heavy beaded fringing the strands interspersed with faceted beads.
The panels are linked with two long strands of beadwork that possibly would have draped around the back of the dress, with a thicker band that joins them at the front, or it may have been one panel mounted on the front and one on the back and the strands draping each side to link the two, well that's my guess
It has a look of a flapper piece but the materials suggest much older, more like 1900
The quality and condition of this striking confection is excellent, an original gem perfect for recreating a showstopping vintage costume
