I have a selection of these unusual silk discs used to keep a hair bun tidy, in Victorian and Edwardian costume a woman's hair would always be worn up and these helped keep everything in place.

They look a little like a doll's hat....and no doubt could be adapted as such.....such a variety of textiles used, silk brocade, moiré silks, pleated silk chiffon, jet bead, lined with millinery net and wired around the rim, one still has a pin in place as if she has only just taken it off.

All are in perfect clean condition. A group framed together might make an interesting textile artwork.
