One shank of 19th Century Hand Spun Hemp Yarn
€ 8

Hemp was one of the most important cottage industries in 18th and 19th century producing fabric for a wide range of domestic use

These shanks of yarn were a barn find, untouched since they were spun by hand on the farm where the hemp was grown

They have an amazing texture, a natural neutral colour flecked with raw pieces of the hemp plant, on their own twisted into a bundle they are great to add as accents to a rustic décor however as they were stored tightly wrapped in sacks they are clean and ready to use for weaving, textile crafts, indy dyeing, from the 19thc French peasants hands into yours

Price is for one shank weighing approximately 120g. We have a large batch if you are interested in buying in bulk please message us for a more favourable price
