Part of a wonderful haul of unused farmhouse heirloom cloths all from the same vide maison, these two torchons are a classic utilitarian style for multiple uses, made from a rustic weave hemp fabric with a combination of two wide red stripes and two narrow running down both sides.

They each have AB initials and a hanging tag, they are a light oatmeal colour with that natural rustic homespun look, dotted with flecks of fibres. As they have never been used I have chosen to leave them in their straight from the armoire condition and they will need a launder before use, the discolouration is where they have been folded and exposed and washes out easily.
